What is an e-label and a QR code?
Electronic label is a special web page with information about a product, for a specific market. Electronic label is accessed by consumers scanning the QR code printed on the product label with a smartphone.
The QR-CODE is a square barcode that you add to the back label of your bottle. Anyone with a phone will be able to open their phone's camera app, point the camera at the QR code, and a link to your electronic label will appear to view the nutritional information.
How many e-labels will I need?
The packages we offer are based on the total number of e-labels you need across all your harvests, not just each year.
So let's say you're going to sell 3 new wines every year.
First year (2024)
You have 3 new wines to sell, so you will need 3 e-labels. This is covered completely free of charge under our 3 free plans.
Second year (2025)
Next year (2025) let's say you launch another 3 new wines from a new vintage, as you'll also keep the existing 3 wines from 2024. That's 6 e-labels, so you'll need to upgrade to the 10 e-pack -label. (BUSINESS 10)
Compared to other digital tag platforms, with us, once you need to have more than 50 tags active, you'll switch to the unlimited plan and never pay more than 249 euros per year (including VAT – final price)
How does the free plan work?
It's 100% free to sign up and start creating e-labels and QR codes to send to your label designer.
Your first 3 e-labels are free – you can create up to 3 QR codes ready to send to your label designer without the need for a paid plan.
Can I generate and print the QR code and upload the information later?
Yes, you can create as many QR codes as you need with just the wine trade name for each wine you plan to label.
Later, you can go back and add the ingredients and nutritional information.
You can also modify the information at any time if you need to, and since it's an electronic label you don't need to print a new QR-CODE on your physical label again!
Does using this service mean that my wine labels meet the new EU wine label regulations?
Yes. We have thoroughly checked the relevant legislation and the new regulation.
We also regularly check for new updates and are able to adapt our platform as legislation evolves.
This is one advantage that digital labels have over paper.
However, we strongly recommend producers and users of the platform to consult the official sources and regulations.
What information should be included in the physical label if I use your platform?
If you use the digital e-label creation platform to provide the ingredient list and nutrition declaration, you will need to include certain information on the physical label as well:
You should include the energy value on the physical label. The energy value can be expressed using the symbol "E" for energy.
For the list of ingredients, you must include the indication of the elements referred to in Article 9(1)(c) of Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 (the possibly allergenic ingredients). The word "contains" should be included followed by the name of the substance or product as listed in Annex II to Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011, which refers to substances or products that cause allergies or intolerances.
In addition there should be compliance with the remaining mandatory labeling requirements eg the name of the product, the alcohol content, etc.
How do I calculate the energy value (kcal/kJ) of the wine?
We suggest contacting an Oenological Laboratory or Chemistry which, through a chemical analysis, is able to calculate the calorific value as well as other indicators of the wine. You can refer to it here
However, the platform has a computer for the energy of the wine. You can enter the alcoholic strength, amount of sugars, acidity, polyols (glycerin) and we calculate the energy value for you, based on EU conversion factors.
In which languages will my customers be able to view my e-labels?
The electronic label information may appear in all official EU languages. All information, including the heading, must be in a language easily understood by consumers in the country where the product is marketed, and this language must be one of the official languages of the European Union. We offer automatic translation that will save you time translating all the information.
A user can choose to automatically translate your tag into the 24 official European languages.

We can redirect your existing QR codes designed by us to your new provider at a cost of €3 per Label.
What information is required on the electronic label?
From December 8, 2023, it is mandatory to indicate the list of ingredients and the nutritional declaration of wines in accordance with regulation (EU) 2021/2117. It is possible to provide this information, on the printed label or via an electronic label / E-label. It is also mandatory to indicate on the printed label the presence of allergenic substances and the energy value per 100 ml of wine or flavored wine in kJ or kcal.
For export to Italy details of recycling must also be provided.
Additional details such as alcohol content, grape varieties, quality, logos and bottle images are optional.
Can the content of an existing electronic tag/QR code be modified?
Yes. The content of an e-label / QR code can be changed at any time. The changes are immediately visible to any consumer who scans the QR code corresponding to this electronic label.
How long does an electronic label / QR code have to be active?
Electronic labels must remain accessible until the producer / seller / importer is satisfied that all products have been consumed and all products have been disposed of. Even if a particular product may be out of stock, some units of the product may still be in circulation (in private homes, shops or restaurants) and if the electronic badge / QR code is deleted on the platform, consumers will not be able to access the information provided, as the QR code is not available
Who is responsible for the information published on the digital platform and the content of the electronic labels?
The producer/seller/importer/exporter is responsible for listing the raw material, ingredients, alcohol, nutrition declaration, expiration, life cycle, all information filled in the digital platform. The digital platform is not responsible for the correctness of the information filled in by its users.
