What is an electronic label and QR code?
An e-label is a special website with information about a product, for a specific market. The e-label is accessed by consumers who scan the QR code printed on the product label with a smartphone.
The QR-CODE is a square barcode that you add to the back label of your bottle. Anyone with a phone will be able to open their phone's camera app, point the camera at the QR code, and a link will appear to your electronic label to view the nutritional information.
How many electronic labels will I need?
The packages we offer are based on the total number of electronic tags you need across all your crops, not just each year.
So, let's say you sell 3 new wines each year.
First year (2024)
You have 3 new wines to sell, so you will need 3 e-labels. This is covered completely free of charge under our 3 free plans.
Second year (2025)
Next year (2025), let's assume that you will release 3 more new wines from a new vintage on the market, as you will also maintain the existing 3 wines from 2024. This is 6 e-labels, so you will need to upgrade to the 50 e-label package. (BUSINESS 50)
Compared to other digital label platforms, with us, once you need to have more than 100 active labels, you will switch to the unlimited plan and you will never pay more than 199 euros per year (plus VAT).
How the free plan works;
It's 100% free to sign up and start creating electronic labels and QR codes to send to your label designer.
Your first 3 e-labels are free – you can create up to 3 QR codes ready to send to your label designer without needing a paid plan.
Can I create and print the QR code and upload the information later?
Yes, you can create as many QR codes as you need with just the wine brand name for each wine you plan to print labels for.
Later, you can go back and add the ingredients and nutritional information.
You can also modify the information at any time if you need to, and because it is an electronic label you do not need to reprint a new QR-CODE on your physical label!
Does using this service mean that my wine labels comply with the new EU regulations on wine labels?
Yes. We have thoroughly reviewed the relevant legislation and the new regulation.
We also regularly check for new updates and are able to adapt our platform as legislation evolves.
This is an advantage that digital labels have over printed ones.
However, we strongly recommend that producers and users of the platform consult official sources and regulations.
What information should be included on the physical label if I use your platform?
If you use the digital e-label creation platform to provide the ingredient list and nutrition declaration, you will need to include certain information on the physical label as well:
You should include the energy value on the physical label. The energy value can be expressed using the symbol “E” for energy.
For the list of ingredients, you must include the indication of the elements referred to in Article 9(1)(c) of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 (potentially allergenic ingredients). The word “contains” must be included followed by the name of the substance or product as listed in Annex II to Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, which refers to substances or products causing allergies or intolerances.
In addition, there must be compliance with other mandatory labeling requirements, e.g. product name, alcohol content, etc.
How do I calculate the energy value (kcal/kJ) of wine?
We suggest that you contact an Oenological Laboratory or Chemist which, through a chemical analysis, is able to calculate the caloric value as well as other indicators of the wine. You can refer to here
However, the platform has a wine energy calculator. You can enter the alcoholic strength, amount of sugars, acidity, polyols (glycerol) and we calculate the energy value for you, based on EU conversion factors.
In what languages will my customers be able to view my electronic labels?
The information on the electronic label can be displayed in all official EU languages. All information, including the heading, must be in a language that is easily understood by consumers in the country where the product is marketed, and that language must be one of the official languages of the European Union. We offer automatic translation that will save you time in translating all the information.
A user can choose to have your label automatically translated into the 24 official European languages.

Yes. We do not bind you to any contract and you can leave us at any time.
We can redirect existing QR codes designed by us to your new provider at a cost of 3 euros per label.
What information is mandatory on the electronic label?
From 8 December 2023, the list of ingredients and the nutrition declaration of wines are mandatory in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/2117. This information can be provided on the printed label or via an electronic label / E-label. It is also mandatory to indicate on the printed label the presence of allergenic substances and the energy value per 100 ml of wine or aromatized wine in kJ or kcal.
For export to Italy, details regarding recycling must also be provided.
Additional details such as alcohol content, grape varieties, quality, logos and bottle images are optional.
Can the content of an existing electronic label/QR code be modified?
Yes. The content of an e-label / QR code can be changed at any time. The changes are immediately visible to any consumer who scans the QR code corresponding to that e-label.
How long does an electronic label / QR code need to be active?
Electronic labels must remain accessible until the producer/seller/importer is satisfied that all products have been consumed and all products have been disposed of. Even if a particular product may be out of stock, some units of the product may still be in circulation (in private homes, shops or restaurants) and if the electronic label/QR code is deleted on the platform, consumers will not have access to the information provided, as the QR code is not available.
Who is responsible for the information published on the digital platform and the content of the electronic labels?
The producer/seller/importer/exporter is responsible for the listing of the raw material, ingredients, alcohol, nutritional declaration, expiration, life cycle, all information filled in on the digital platform. The digital platform is not responsible for the accuracy of the information filled in by its users.
