Presentation of Mandatory Indications
Based on the EU Wine Legislation the mandatory indications referred to in points (1)-(11) must:
- Be concentrated in the same visual field (front or back label) so that the consumer is not obliged to
turn the bottle/package over to read the specifics. - To be written in indelible characters and clearly distinguishable from the surrounding text or graphics.
Exceptions are elements (4), (7), (11) of the mandatory indications, i.e. the presence of certain allergenic substances, the
indication of the importer in the case of imported wines and the batch number which may also be written in a different
field from the remaining mandatory indications.
